Last week with my colleague Aimee Morse from the CCRI we were at the Satoyama Conference sponsored by the OECD and studying the Socio-Ecological Production Landscapes. Among experienced researchers and practicioners we had a terrific opportunity to showcase North Wales as a culturally, economically and ecologically significant mosaic of production landscape; highlighting some of its challenges, some of its values and possible ways to sustain those in the future, either in terms of good practice or policy options.

The only limitation was the difficulty to highlight in a short time the fact that this notion of landscape also covers Lowland, having worked in Pembrokeshire, the Vale of Clwyd, the Llyn Peninsula, Normandy and coming from the Léon/Trégor in Brittany I am more than aware of this fact and will correct it in the article coming out of this presentation!
